BAN CHIANG BEAD
Thirty seven years ago, We received the information of the Ban Chiang Prehistoric Culture with beautiful painted potteries, it caused Thailand had an excellent reputation for the new discovery of the new civilization of the word, Ban Chiang might be the cradle of world civilization.
Actually the people in Ban Chiang they found the Ban Chiang pottery for a long time, but they thought that were common potteries and not valuable antiques, some of them had been thrown out as litter things, some people used to hold pig slop or keeping as curious things, made holy for asking superstitions power for good luck.
Until July 1966 Stephen Young son of Mr. Kenneth Young, a Former Governor Ambassador from United States of America to Thailand, he went to Ban Chiang, he noticed that some potsherds both painted and unpainted, and become interested, it might be ancient antiques of Thailand, he collected several of these painted potsherds, and took to the National Museum in Bangkok. The high ranking officials of the Department of fine Art with co - operation of the foreign expert from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania U.S.A. to know the date of Ban Chiang potsherds by having their age scientifically determined by using the thermoluminescence method, and had found that the date of potsherds about 4,000 - 5,000 years, older than any earthenware pottery before found in Thailand.
This is a short story of Ban Chiang and the famous painted pottery, sometimes, it will be the cause of changing the world civilization, and Ban Chiang may be the cradle of the world civilization.
